Welcome! Below you will find all the information you will need to complete your summer work for AP U.S. History for the 2014-15 school year. It is important to remember that all of this work MUST be completed by the first day of class and all work MUST be handwritten (NO TYPED WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED!). It is best to lay out a schedule for your summer work as there is a lot to accomplish. It is not meant to be done in weekend.
STEP ONE: Sign up for Remind 101
Follow the instructions in the picture below in order to sign up for Remind 101. This is the main way I will communicate with students during the year. I will use this through out the summer as well, so please sign up before doing anything else! It is not necessary to download any apps to your phone or electronic device to use Remind 101.
STEP TWO: 2014-15 Summer Work Packet
Print out the packet linked below. It includes the assignments as well as the directions for your APUSH summer work. Again, please remember that all work must be completed by the first day of class and it must be HANDWRITTEN!

STEP THREE: Acquire the Necessary Books
There are three books you will need to have for APUSH this year. Two of which you will need to complete your summer work, the third you will need to acquire prior to the first day of class. They are:
THE FOLLOWING BOOK IS THE TEXTBOOK AND IS AVAILABLE FOR CHECKOUT AT THE BCHS BOOKSTORE:
The American Pageant by David Kennedy, Elizabeth Cohen, and Thomas Bailey. This book is available at the Boulder Creek High School bookstore and you will need to check this out ASAP if you have not already done so.
YOU WILL NEED TO PURCHASE OR ACQUIRE A COPY OF THE FOLLOWING TWO BOOKS ON YOUR OWN.
Rise to Rebellion by Jeff Shaara. You will need to purchase a copy of this book for your summer work. It is widely available at bookstore and online retailers.
An Empire of Wealth The Epic History of American Economic Power by John Steele Gordon. You will need to purchase a copy of this book and have it by the first day of class. It is widely available at bookstores and online retailers.
